Job summary

Owner, a remote-first company supporting local businesses, is seeking a mission-driven senior engineer. This 100% remote role can be based anywhere in the United States or Canada, with optional in-person HQ collaboration in San Francisco for some roles.

You will build and scale our web platform, working across frontend and backend stacks, and contribute to product strategy and code quality.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience building applications.
• Extensive TypeScript experience.
• Experience scaling with frontend stack (React, Next.js) and/or backend stack (Node.js, Mongo, AWS).
• Experience at product-focused startup/scale-up or technology company.

Responsibilities

• Build new products and features from concept to shipping.

The impact you'll have

• Build new products and features 0 to 1
• Take ownership of projects from conception all the way to shipping, ensuring modular, maintainable, and high-quality code
• Deliver value to our end users across our entire system while considering performance, scale, security, and maintainability
• Shape our product direction by talking to users and collaborating with other teammates in feature brainstorms/roadmap planning
• Provide thoughtful code reviews and technical guidance to peers, helping to improve overall team quality

What we’re looking for

• 5+ years of experience building applications
• Extensive Typescript experience
• Experience scaling with frontend stack (React, Next.js, etc.) and/or our backend stack (Nodejs, Mongo, AWS)
• Experience at product-focused startup/scale-up or technology company
• High degree of cross-functional collaboration—past colleagues in product, design, and business would speak highly of your teamwork

• Strong sense of ownership and drive, excellent communication, and a proactive approach to identifying and solving problems

Compensation and benefits

• The estimated starting base salary range for this role is $190K-220K depending on level, location and experience, plus a generous pre-IPO equity package
