Position Summary

Working on applications supporting the SoundExchange mission, to help creators identify and track their rights and payments, the Senior Full Stack Software Engineer will be a key contributor to the full software development lifecycle while collaborating with other contributors within their technical team. They will work on maintaining and enriching robust applications that deal with data processing and business operations, owning features end-to-end across Vue.js-based front-end interfaces and Java/Spring Boot backend services. For this opening the ideal candidate has genuine hands‑on experience on both sides of the stack, with particular strength on the front‑end side in Vue, as well as a positive attitude, and the ability to quickly adapt to rapidly changing priorities.

Essential Functions

• Contribute as a code author and reviewer within a small team of software engineers

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities (KSAs)

Proficiency in our current stack would accelerate success however equivalent modern stack experience would definitively be considered.

Front-end Experience

• Vue.js (Vue 3, Composition API), including state management (Pinia/Vuex) and modern build tooling (Vite)


• TypeScript and/or other front-end frameworks (React, Angular) building responsive, accessible UIs and translating wireframes into production components


• Front-end testing frameworks (Vitest, Cypress, Playwright)


• Building performant UIs (e.g., pagination, virtualization, lazy loading)

Back-End Experience

• Java (Spring Boot, JPA/Hibernate) and SQL (Postgres)


• AWS stack (ECS, S3, Fargate, OpenSearch, ElastiCache, RDS/Aurora, Athena, Step Functions)


• Terraform or other infrastructure as code technologies


• Event-based systems


• Working with large data sets at scale

Required Education, Certifications/ Licenses, Related Experience

• 7 or more years of experience in software engineering


• Demonstrated hands‑on experience across the full stack — both front‑end and back‑end layers required


• Experience building enterprise software with complex business rules and data models


• Familiarity with distributed systems or microservices architectural concepts


• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across technical and non‑technical stakeholders

• If hired remote, this person is expected to travel to the Washington DC corporate office as needed (3-4 times per year minimum).

PAY RANGE:

$158,000.00 - $190,000.00
