Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Lead technical solution planning and implementation design for business-critical software systems, enhancements, integrations, and cross-team initiatives.

  • Review code, lead technical design discussions, and promote quality, maintainability, scalability, and business value.
  • Establish and reinforce application architecture standards, design patterns, engineering best practices, and responsible use of development and AI-assisted tools.
  • Document technical designs, architecture decisions, and system considerations to support maintainability, knowledge sharing, and long-term continuity.
  • Guide technical decisions related to integrations, data pipelines, identity management, compliance, data retention, and secure handling of sensitive information.
  • Mentor developers and coach team members to grow in technical ownership and effective problem-solving.
  • Partner with infrastructure and platform teams to support application reliability, security, monitoring, deployment readiness, operational support, and cost‑effective cloud usage.
  • Partner with the Software Development Manager and senior team members on sprint planning, prioritization, and technical sequencing of work.
  • Provide technical review and oversight of contractor and vendor work to ensure alignment with internal standards.
Prerequisites:

    • Experience translating business needs into scalable technical solutions and evaluating tradeoffs, system impacts, and long-term maintainability.
    • Demonstrated sound judgment, including knowing when to make decisions independently and when to seek collaboration or escalation.
    • Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, engineering best practices, and code quality principles.
    • Ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues across applications, integrations, relational databases, and data platforms such as Microsoft Fabric.
    • Working knowledge of identity management, data compliance, data retention, and secure handling of PCI / PII information.
    • Working knowledge of cloud environments and DevOps practices, including CI / CD, monitoring, deployment, operational support, and cost‑conscious use of cloud resources.
    • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with developers, business stakeholders, leadership, contractors, and vendors.
