Job summary

Watershed is seeking a senior software engineer to build scalable data and API systems in NYC. You’ll ship production code from day one and collaborate with product, design, climate science, and data science to turn Watershed’s data into actionable climate insights.

Ideal candidates have 6+ years in software engineering, strong Node.js web development or data pipelines experience, and a passion for startup growth. This role is based in our New York City office with four days in office per week.

The role

Watershed is a software platform for running a world-class climate program. We measure our success in the carbon reduction achievements of our customers. We are looking for team members to join our team focused on delivering outcomes for our Financial Institution customers.

You’ll work on the team turning Watershed’s data layer into an intelligence platform: BI-grade querying, AI-powered discovery and analysis, and the schema architecture underneath it all. The goal is for customers to get answers inside Watershed—not export to Excel.

What you could work on:

• Build new interactive data visualizations to help climate leads understand their company's emissions.

• Build APIs to unify carbon data access for customers and other engineers.

• Build tools that help financial institutions measure and report emissions across their portfolio companies.

• Build tools for customers to effectively ingest and interpret business data.

This role will be based in our New York City office.

Must be willing to work from an office 4 days per week (except for remote roles)

Watershed has hub offices in San Francisco, New York, London, and Mexico City and satellite offices in Denver, Sydney, Paris, and Berlin. Where we have offices, employees are expected to in office for 4 days per week.
