Job summary

Cloudflare is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for the Internal Fraud Platform. This hybrid role focuses on building the platform to protect Cloudflare from fraud across billing, signup, and support systems.

You will work with data scientists to operationalize models, design end-to-end pipelines, and deliver secure, scalable backend services. As a founding engineer on this team, you will shape architecture and tooling, collaborating with cross-functional partners in Trust & Safety, Data

Qualifications

• Five+ years of professional software engineering experience or equivalent.
• Experience building and operating distributed systems or backend services in production.
• Experience designing and building data or event pipelines (e.g., Kafka, Pub/Sub).
• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and API standards.
• Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL).
• Comfort owning ambiguous 0-to-1 problems with limited infra.

Responsibilities

• Build the Platform: ingest fraud-relevant events from internal systems, evaluate them, and route decisions and data to destinations.
• Deliver Signals for Scoring: expose data and features needed by models and integrate decisions into pipelines/tools.
• Build Investigation Tooling: create internal tools for analysts to investigate and act on cases.
• Own Projects End to End: drive initiatives from definition to rollout with minimal oversight.
• Ensure Accuracy and Reliability: build fault-tolerant systems handling retries and high volumes.
