Job summary
General Dynamics - IT is seeking a Software Engineer SME to support USPACOM J6 IT modernization and mission partner interoperability at Camp Smith, HI. You will lead software engineering analysis, drive secure integration, and coordinate across defense teams to deliver modernized enterprise IT capabilities for the Pacific theater.
The role emphasizes planning, prototyping, and collaboration with stakeholders, with a final Top Secret clearance required.
Qualifications
- 15+ years of relevant software engineering experience in DoD/government IT environments.
- Proven ability to lead modernization and integration efforts across complex systems.
- Strong background in secure software practices and DevSecOps.
- Excellent written and oral communication with multiple stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Lead software engineering analysis and modernization efforts from definition through transition.
- Collaborate with technical teams to mature prototypes, sprints, and enterprise capability improvements.
- Translate mission needs into maintainable software requirements and implementation plans.
- Coordinate with stakeholders across engineering, cybersecurity, operations, and partners.
- Produce clear documentation, briefings, and recommendations for leadership.
