• Design and build cloud-based services that compute and serve vehicle software specifications based on fleet requirements, state, and hardware.
• Architect and develop the agent running on every vehicle to manage state and software lifecycle.
• Deepen agent integration with the underlying OS for robust, isolated application environments.

Job Overview

A leading autonomous mobility company seeks a Senior Software Engineer to design and evolve the Fleet Orchestrator system. You will manage software versions, configurations, and lifecycles for thousands of autonomous vehicles in urban environments. This hands‑on role ensures fleet stability, safety, and reliability through cloud‑based services and vehicle agents.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and build cloud-based services that compute and serve vehicle software specifications based on fleet requirements, state, and hardware.
• Architect and develop the agent running on every vehicle to manage state and software lifecycle.
• Deepen agent integration with the underlying OS for robust, isolated application environments.
• Collaborate with teams to define deployment strategies improving reliability and developer workflows.
• Debug and resolve complex system‑level issues across the fleet for high uptime.

Requirements

• Strong proficiency in Python for building robust, testable, and maintainable applications.
• Solid experience with Linux systems programming and administration, particularly systemd.
• Experience building and running production systems, with proficiency in AWS or Kubernetes.
• Systems‑thinking mindset to reason about distributed systems and failure modes.

Preferred Qualifications

• Deep understanding of software deployment, configuration management, and infrastructure-as-code.
• Proficiency in Go for scalable backend services.
• Experience with Nix or NixOS.
• Familiarity with gRPC for inter-service communication.
• Background in robotics, IoT, or embedded/remote hardware software management.
