Job summary

IBM Software is hiring a Senior Software Engineer II for the Fleet Management Unified Deployment team. You will shape the lifecycle of Confluent software across Confluent Cloud, spanning deployment, upgrades, recovery, and operational control across multi-cloud environments.

You will build a unified control plane, design APIs, and secure multi-tenant operations while aligning with cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure). Strong leadership and collaboration across teams are essential.

Qualifications

6+ years of experience delivering scalable software solutions.
Deep expertise in Kubernetes, including controller development and multi-cluster architectures.
Strong proficiency in Go, with experience building production-grade backend or platform services.
Experience with fleet-wide lifecycle management, deployment orchestration, or cloud automation.
Experience running production services in cloud environments with focus on reliability and security.
Proven ability to own significant technical projects and collaborate across teams.

Responsibilities

Build and evolve the Unified Deployment control plane for multi-cloud fleets.
Coordinate fleet lifecycle orchestration across deployment activities and state transitions.
Design and enhance APIs for deployment workflows and service lifecycle management.
Integrate with AWS, GCP, and Azure within Confluent Cloud platform.
Strengthen multi-tenant security and operational boundaries.
Drive observability with monitoring, health checks, and self-healing workflows.
