Job summary

Symbotic is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead design and development of real-time software orchestrating fleets of autonomous robots in automated warehouses. You will build scalable control systems across multiple deployment sites, mentor engineers, and improve performance metrics in a fast-paced environment.

The role emphasizes leadership, high-quality software, and collaboration with the Fleet Controls team to enable scalable robot operations across sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related STEM field.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional software development experience.
• At least 1 year in a technical leadership or team lead role.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop real-time, high-performance software for fleets of mobile robots.
• Analyze fleet performance and drive improvements to KPIs and customer requirements.
• Mentor junior engineers and lead technical efforts across projects.
• Identify root causes of software performance issues and implement fixes.
• Develop and maintain unit and system-level tests for production software.
