Job summary

Innovative Systems & Solutions (ISS) is seeking a Senior Software Engineer in Annapolis Junction, MD. The role focuses on developing, maintaining, and enhancing advanced software systems, including analytics, large data processing, and real-time components.

You will work individually or with teams, review tests, and propose software design improvements. Responsibilities include deriving design requirements from user needs, coding or modifying software, debugging, and leading development teams

Qualifications

• Twenty (20) years’ experience as SWE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
• Four (4) years of additional SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.

About the Role

The Software Engineer develops, maintains, and enhancescomplex and diverse software systems (e.g.,processing-intensive analytics,novel algorithm development, manipulation of extremely large data sets,real-time systems, and business management information systems) based upondocumented requirements. Works individually or as part of a team. Reviews andtests software components for adherence to the design requirements anddocuments test results. Resolves software problem reports. Utilizes softwaredevelopment and software design methodologies appropriate to the developmentenvironment. Provides specific input to the software components of systemdesign to include hardware/software trade-offs, software reuse, useofCommercial Off-the-shelf (COTS)/Government Off-the-shelf (GOTS) in place ofnew development, and requirements analysis and synthesis from system level toindividual software components.

The salary range provided is a general guideline. ISSIconsiders several factors when determining compensation, including the role’sresponsibilities, candidate experience, education, skills, and current marketconditions.
