Senior Software Engineer – Fern, a Postman Company

Overview

As a Senior Software Engineer at Fern, you will build high‑performance APIs, scale AI infrastructure, and design developer experiences that reach millions of users.

Responsibilities

• Scale infrastructure to support growth and maintain performance, reliability, and security for AI systems deployed on Vercel, AWS, and Turbopuffer.
• Work directly with API teams at customers such as Nvidia, Twilio, and Square to debug real‑world edge cases, shape APIs based on feedback, and ship improvements quickly.
• Collaborate with product designers and frontend engineers using TypeScript and Next.js to define polished interfaces and user experiences.

What We’re Looking For

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Deep appreciation for developer experience as a craft, particularly in building open source.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for solving technical problems with customers.
• Bonus: experience building with TypeScript.

Compensation

Base salary range: $200,000 – $250,000, plus competitive equity.
