Job summary

Comcast is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to provide hands-on technical leadership for the Enterprise Decision Engine (EDE). You will drive design, delivery, and operations for scalable, real-time decisioning and personalized experiences across the enterprise.

The role emphasizes architectural direction, mentorship, and collaboration with product and architecture teams. A strong background in Java, Spring, distributed systems, and cloud-native practices is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience delivering enterprise-scale applications and platforms.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java and Spring.
• Experience designing, building, and operating distributed systems and microservice-based platforms at scale.
• Ability to translate complex requirements into scalable, maintainable solutions and roadmaps.
• Experience in ambiguous environments and driving technical solutions independently.
• Knowledge of CI/CD, observability, performance optimization, and production operations.
• Experience with cloud-native architectures and modern web technologies.
• Ability to mentor engineers and lead cross-team technical initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical solution for complex EDE and ACRE capabilities from requirements through production delivery.
• Translate requirements into scalable platform capabilities and actionable work for teams.
• Design, develop, and enhance platform services using Java, Spring, SpEL, Next.js, and related tech.
• Drive architectural evolution and set technical direction across services.
• Collaborate with product managers, architects, and cross-functional teams to deliver aligned solutions.
• Lead engineering excellence through reviews, prototyping, and best-practice adoption.
• Mentor junior engineers and establish reusable patterns and practices.
• Create and maintain design docs, architecture decisions, and operational procedures.
• Improve platform reliability, performance, security, and observability through automation and testing.
