Job summary

Google LLC's Senior Software Engineer, Google Home, Energy Experiences, Mountain View, CA, is responsible for end-to-end feature delivery from device telemetry and cloud services to the Google Home App UI, building scalable backend systems for real-time energy events.

Interoperability with Matter and unified device models, along with leveraging LLMs and AI agents, will be central as you collaborate with product, design, hardware, firmware, and external partners to turn ambitious energy concepts

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
5+ years of backend software development experience.
5+ years building/distributing systems and event-driven architectures.
5+ years of Java development.

Responsibilities

Own full-stack feature delivery from device telemetry and cloud to the Google Home App UI.
Design and operate backend services for high-volume real-time data and scheduling events.
Integrate with Matter and unified device models to enable interoperable smart homes.
Incorporate LLMs, AI agents, and automated workflows to accelerate shipping velocity.
Collaborate with PM, UX, hardware, firmware, and external partners to realize energy concepts into consumer products.
