Job summary

Commerce seeks a Senior Software Engineer in Austin, TX to design and build reliable services, APIs, and product-facing workflows that span backend systems, UI surfaces, event processing, and third-party integrations.

You will own production behavior, including monitoring, alerting, logging, debugging, and runbooks, while partnering with product, design, infrastructure, support, and other engineering teams to deliver robust solutions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience.
• Experience owning ambiguous technical work across multiple layers of a system.
• Experience building APIs, services, and integrations with solid SQL and data-driven decisions.
• Familiarity with distributed systems, event-driven flows, caching, retries, and production failures.
