Job summary

Adobe’s Commerce Platform Services team in Austin is seeking a Software Development Engineer to build, maintain, and improve core backend services and infrastructure for Adobe Commerce, helping it stay at the forefront of e-commerce.

You will collaborate with architects, leads, and engineers to deliver new features, optimize CI/CD pipelines, and ensure security, performance, and reliability across cloud services using Docker, Kubernetes, and modern web technologies.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science or 3+ years of experience considered equivalent to a degree.
• Proven expertise in backend development and infrastructure management.
• Proficiency in programming languages - PHP, Python, Java, Go, Node.js.
• Experience in TypeScript/HTML/CSS and modern web technologies.
• AI-first mindset and experience with LLM technology.
• Understanding of RESTful API design, microservices architecture, and secure coding practices.
• Experience with CI/CD tools and cloud services (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Outstanding problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a collaborative environment.
• Excellent communication skills and a dedication to knowledge sharing.

Responsibilities

• Build, implement, and maintain backend services, APIs, and automation tools for Adobe Commerce.
• Develop and optimize CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and infrastructure as code (e.g., Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes).
• Collaborate with architects, leads, and engineers to deliver new features and resolve complex technical challenges.
• Participate in code reviews, build discussions, and contribute to team knowledge sharing.
• Ensure code quality, security, and performance through testing, monitoring, and established guidelines.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues across multiple modules and services.
• Record technical solutions, processes, and add to internal knowledge bases.
• Stay current with industry trends and technologies relevant to cloud services, DevOps, and e-commerce.
