Upbound Group, Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer - Enablement in Draper, Utah, to lead architectural decisions and deliver scalable Rails services.

You will guide the team through the full software lifecycle, drive high-performance designs, and ensure system reliability across distributed components. You’ll mentor engineers, set coding standards, and collaborate with product and delivery managers to translate business needs into technical roadmaps.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience building distributed systems.
• Expert in Ruby and Ruby on Rails with high-concurrency scaling.
• Experience with PostgreSQL and distributed caching.
• Experience with AWS and container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical guide across the software lifecycle, steering architecture and engineering execution.
• Architect and implement high-throughput, fault-tolerant distributed solutions and APIs using Ruby on Rails.
• Define architectural standards and service boundaries with non-functional requirements.
• Mentor mid-level and senior engineers to raise the technical bar across the team.
