Job summary

Kymeta seeks a Senior Software Engineer to build, sustain, and expand software for its electronically steered antenna platforms. You will work with RF, systems, and hardware teams to deliver software features, APIs, and control interfaces enabling RF sensing, tracking, radar, and regulatory compliance.

The role involves full software lifecycle work from concept to field deployment, with travel up to 10% and collaboration with customers and partners.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience in embedded, networking, aerospace, defense, or related technical environments
• Strong proficiency in Python and C/C++
• Experience developing software in Linux and embedded Linux environments
• Experience designing, optimizing, and maintaining networked applications using gRPC, REST, TCP/IP, and sockets
• Experience integrating software with hardware devices, sensors, embedded systems, or communications equipment
• Familiarity with software design, version control, automated testing, and lifecycle management
• Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with customers, partners, and multidisciplinary teams
• U.S. citizenship required
• Active security clearance preferred

Responsibilities

• Lead development, enhancement, and sustainment of software supporting advanced applications of Kymeta antenna systems
• Design and implement antenna control capabilities for tracking, sensing, radar, regulatory/compliance, and mission-specific functions
• Lead multidisciplinary engineering efforts across RF, antenna, software, FPGA, embedded systems, and networking
• Develop and maintain APIs, network services, socket interfaces, and integration frameworks for third-party systems
• Collaborate with engineers and customers to translate requirements into software features
• Support development and sustainment of antenna software platforms and extensions
• Assist partners with API implementations, interoperability, and troubleshooting
• Participate in laboratory testing, field demonstrations, and deployments
• Analyze software, network, and system performance to improve reliability and usability
• Develop technical documentation and interface definitions
• Serve as a technical resource for architecture and customer-facing discussions
• Travel up to 10%
