Job summary

GE Vernova is seeking a Software Engineer to join a team of 8–15 engineers responsible for the development, enhancement, and support of a large-scale Electricity Market Management System (MMS). You will design, develop, and evolve software components within an energy-critical environment, collaborating with domain experts to deliver robust solutions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related STEM field.
  • 3 years of professional software development experience.
  • 2 years of experience working on software projects in the Energy domain (e.g., Energy Management, Power Systems, or Wholesale Electricity Markets).
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented analysis, software design patterns, and modern coding principles.
  • Hands-on experience with Java (backend development) and Python (scripting/automation).
  • Experience with SQL databases (e.g., Oracle, PostgreSQL).
  • Familiarity with web services (REST/SOAP) and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Git, Maven, Jenkins).
  • Understanding of MMS/EMS is highly preferred.
  • Experience with containerization (Kubernetes/Docker) or cloud-native architectures is a plus.
  • Familiarity with observability/logging tools (e.g., Splunk, Prometheus, ELK) is a plus.

Responsibilities

Essential Responsibilities

Relocation Assistance Provided: Yes. For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $109,480.00 and $164,220.00.

The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
