Walmart, Inc.'s Walmart Global Tech in Hoboken is seeking a Senior Software Engineer who will design and deliver distributed services, mentor engineers, and own delivery for complex features end-to-end. You will work with product managers and partner teams to turn ideas into scalable, reliable systems.

You will lead design discussions, drive operational excellence through telemetry and incident response, and push for architectures that are fault-tolerant and easy to evolve.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area; 3 years' experience.
• 5 years' experience in software engineering or related area.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation of highly available, fault‑tolerant, scalable microservices and event‑driven systems (Java-based).
• Own end-to-end delivery for complex features: design, implementation, testing, rollout, and long‑term operability.
• Set a high bar for operational excellence: telemetry, alerting, incident response, root cause analysis, and prevention.
• Drive technical direction in your area: architecture decisions, reliability improvements, performance tuning, and tech‑debt reduction.
• Produce high‑quality code and raise team quality via PR reviews, design reviews, and engineering best practices.
• Collaborate deeply with product and business stakeholders to break down ambiguity into executable plans and milestones.
