Job summary

Digitailor is seeking an experienced backend engineer to own and deliver large-scale data syncing projects. You will design and operate distributed systems, building streaming capabilities and optimizing cross-region data movement in a high-growth environment.

Key responsibilities include reducing API latency, implementing caching layers, and expanding multi-cloud infrastructure while collaborating with customers on scaling challenges and reliability improvements.

Qualifications

• 7+ years backend experience with distributed systems.
• Experience building scalable data sync engines or streaming services.
• Strong systems design fundamentals and scaling capabilities.
• Production experience with Kafka, SQL databases, Kubernetes, Docker, and message queues.
• Experience at a high-growth startup and strong CS fundamentals.

About The Role

Join the Core team at a data activation platform company, building and operating the distributed systems behind its data syncing engine. You will own high-impact projects that support reliable, performant data movement across multi-cloud and multi-region environments.

What You'Ll Do

Own projects from initial design through production delivery with significant autonomy. Build and optimize the core data syncing engine for large-scale data movement. Develop streaming capabilities for real-time syncing from sources such as webhooks and message queues. Identify system bottlenecks and design solutions that support substantial growth. Improve API latency and build caching layers to meet performance goals. Extend multi-region and multi-cloud infrastructure to support data residency requirements. Work with customers on scaling challenges and contribute to platform reliability.

What We'Re Looking For

At least 7 years of backend software engineering experience, with deep distributed systems expertise. Experience building scalable data sync engines or event collection and streaming services that support critical systems and large data volumes. Strong systems design fundamentals and experience scaling systems through significant growth. Production experience with Kafka, SQL databases, Kubernetes, Docker, and message queues. Familiarity with the infrastructure and design of streaming and batch processing frameworks such as Spark and Flink. Experience at a high-growth startup and a record of owning complex systems. Strong computer science fundamentals, communication skills, and ability to learn quickly. Compensation & Benefits Base salary range: $180,000 to $320,000 USD annually. Visa sponsorship is available.
