Job summary

Warner Music Group is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Dimensional Data Team (DDT) to build and manage data sets, pipelines, transformations, APIs, and front end products that abstract away data complexity for our stakeholders.

This role focuses on data concepts such as Artists, Participants, Albums, and Tracks, delivering high-impact data solutions within a fast-paced engineering environment.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate or graduate degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• At least 6 years of backend or full stack development experience.
• Deep knowledge of AWS or other large cloud computing environments.
• Strong understanding of APIs, backend services, databases, data pipelines, and data warehousing.

Responsibilities

• Build and manage data sets, pipelines, transformations, APIs, and front end products.
• Own features through full development lifecycle: design, creation, test, deployment, maintenance.
• Deliver scalable, high-quality data solutions for business users and internal products.
• Collaborate closely with engineers and leaders to continuously improve the data platform.
• Diagnose and resolve complex issues with strong debugging skills.

Your Role:

The goal of the Dimensional Data Team (DDT) is to own and deliver dimensional data on concepts like Artists, Participants, Albums, and Tracks to business users and internal WMG products, empowering artist and music label decisions.

We are looking for a Software Engineer to build and manage data sets, pipelines, transformations, APIs, and front end products that abstract away data complexity for our stakeholders. About You:

• You have an undergraduate or graduate degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience
• You have at least 6 years of experience in backend or full stack development
• You have a deep knowledge of AWS or other large cloud computing environment
• You have strong distributed systems skills: How to make things fast and scalable, how to measure things (e.g. latency, throughput)
• You have strong operational excellence best practices: Testing, monitoring, paging, and incident management
• You have a strong understanding of developing APIs, backend services, databases, data pipelines, data warehousing
• Tech stack primarily consists of Python, Databricks, AWS, Postgres, Typescript, React, and Snowflake. Experience in this tech stack is a plus although not mandatory
• You have a high sense of ownership and a drive to deliver impact in a fast-paced, evolving, ambiguous environment
• You have strong debugging skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve complex issues
• You have a drive to grow, learn, and master the craft of software development

$112,000 - $152,000 a year

Compensation

This position offers a base salary of $112,000 - $152,000 CAD. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for a performance based annual bonus.
