Job summary

Clever is the leading identity platform for education, with an office in San Francisco, CA. As a Senior Software Engineer on the Devices team, you will build features across backend services and native clients for iOS, macOS, Windows, and ChromeOS.

You will drive projects such as Platform SSO for macOS, Google Books login, and Apple School Manager integration, collaborating with Product, Design, IT admins, and Support while mentoring peers to ensure reliable, well-tested code that scales in

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience with strong principles and device-centric focus.
• Professional experience building native apps for Windows; experience on iOS/macOS/ChromeOS is a plus.
• Experience with MDM platforms (Intune, Jamf) or Entra/Azure, or integrating with Apple School Manager.
• Proven ability to lead complex projects from design to deployment.
• Experience designing end-to-end systems solving diverse data needs.
• Strong commitment to modular, testable code with automated tests.
• Understand and prioritize Clever engineering culture.

Responsibilities

• Build features across native clients (Swift, C++) and the supporting services.
• Work with Product, Design, IT admins, and Support to ensure smooth district deployments.
• Lead projects from conception to delivery and mentor teammates.
• Drive platform initiatives like Platform SSO for macOS and School Manager integrations.
