Formlabs is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Desktop team in a hybrid role based in Budapest. You will contribute to PreForm by implementing end-to-end workflows, focusing on performance, rendering, and ease of use for 3D print preparation.

Qualifications

• Proficient in C++/Qt, or low-level languages with strong engineering background.
• Able to design reliable systems for large evolving codebases.
• Emphasizes testing, quality, and maintainability.

Responsibilities

• Revitalize a mature Desktop app by improving core workflows and reliability.
• Decouple subsystems connecting the app to printers and cloud services; expose clean APIs.
• Handle geometry and rendering tasks including mesh processing and build-plate packing for large scenes.
• Develop tooling, profiling, memory management, CI, and developer workflows.
