Job summary

Collins Aerospace is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the GPS‑Based Positioning, Navigation and Timing Service (GPNTS) program. You will own software development activities, drive integration, and contribute to architecture, reliability, and performance on mission‑critical shipboard systems in San Diego, CA.

Sign‑on bonus eligible. Work will be onsite at the San Diego facility with collaboration across systems, hardware, cybersecurity, and test engineering teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Experience in C, C++, Python, or Java.
• Experience in Linux and Agile development practices.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and sustainment of core software components for the GPNTS navigation data system.
• Perform advanced debugging and root‑cause analysis of complex issues.
• Architect and optimize automated testing and CI/CD workflows.
• Produce design reviews and technical documentation for interfaces and systems.
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
