Job summary

GovCIO is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to support the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Data Modernization initiative. The engineer will lead the design, development, and deployment of complex applications as part of a cross-domain solution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT/CS or related field.
• 12 years of experience is required.
• Strong knowledge of Java tech stack and REST APIs.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and deployment of complex applications as part of a cross-domain solution.
• Deliver features through an Agile/Scrum process with product owners and stakeholders.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to mid-level engineers.
• Develop robust CI/CD pipelines and collaborate with DevOps teams.
• Ensure security, reliability, and compliance of applications.
• Resolve complex issues across development, testing, and production.
