Job summary

Upstart is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for its Servicing Engineering team to help build and optimize a loan servicing platform, automate business processes, and deliver a superior user experience for borrowers and internal stakeholders.

You will partner with cross-functional teams to identify improvement opportunities, automate repetitive tasks, and implement scalable solutions that boost efficiency and servicing capabilities in a fintech environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with backend focus.
• Experience designing, building, and operating distributed systems and APIs.
• Experience contributing to decision engines integrating with ML signals.
• Production-grade code with automated tests, monitoring, and observability.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-team and multi-quarter projects.
• Drive both existing and greenfield projects with end users in mind.
• Proactively expand impact beyond the Jira board.
• Turn team projects into opportunities to up-level the tech platform.
• Help grow Upstart's engineering team and make it a great place to work.
