Overview

As a Senior Software Engineer in the Cloud Transition team, you will work on developing platform capabilities for customer-facing solutions such as migration assistants, App Migrations, and routine admin tasks. You will also implement compliance initiatives, collaborate on large-scale architecture projects, and ensure best practices across teams.

Responsibilities

• Drive large, complex projects from design to launch independently.
• Address architectural challenges and implement standards in new projects.
• Lead code reviews, documentation, and fix high-risk bugs.
• Mentor junior team members and collaborate across engineering teams.
• Develop scalable microservices and distributed systems, with a focus on cloud infrastructure and compliance.
• Partner with various teams to deliver strategic architecture outcomes.
• Promote industry standards and engineering best practices.

Minimum Qualifications

• At least 6 years of experience building cloud SaaS platforms.
• Strong expertise in Java, microservices, and relational databases.
• Experience with AWS, Kafka, and streaming technologies.
• Proficiency in test-driven development and agile methodologies.
• Hands-on experience with public cloud offerings (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Fluency in at least one database technology (e.g., Oracle, Postgres, DynamoDB).
• Experience in designing scalable, high-performance microservices.
• Mentoring experience and ability to influence decision-making.

Compensation & Benefits

Base pay ranges vary by location: Zone A: $176,200 - $235,000; Zone B: $158,600 - $211,500; Zone C: $146,300 - $195,000. This role may include bonuses, benefits, and equity. Visit go.atlassian.com/payzones for details.
