Our rapidly growing SaaS platform, dbt Cloud, has ambitious goals to enhance its capabilities. We have formed a new team in Romania, called Cloud Signals, to develop essential platform features like notifications, webhooks, and infrastructure-as-code integrations.

As a new team within dbt Labs, Cloud Signals needs hands-on expertise to establish our platform integration strategy. As dbt Cloud evolves, this role involves designing and implementing new platform capabilities from scratch, ensuring robust integration points for our customers. This co-located team will work closely with customers and the broader engineering organization to deliver scalable solutions that enhance the dbt Cloud platform.

In this role, you can expect to:

• Evolve dbt’s architecture to support our growing customer base and scaling needs
• Contribute to the development of dbt Cloud and its Terraform provider
• Advocate for software engineering best practices
• Develop a robust software framework for building application platform features into dbt Cloud
• Collaborate with the OSS community, product teams, and other stakeholders
• Mentor and support junior team members, fostering collaboration and innovation

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a software engineer, preferably in Rust
• Previous experience with SaaS products (SOA preferred)
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related field
• Excellent written and spoken English skills

• Have experience working on large OSS codebases and growing teams
• Have worked with notification systems (email, Slack, etc.)
• Have direct experience with dbt
• Have worked in distributed team environments
