Job summary

Amazon Web Services, Inc. in Herndon, VA is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Compliance & Security Assurance Engineering team. You will influence projects across multiple products, build internal services to monitor security/compliance attributes, and help scale audits for AWS services.

You will mentor SDEs, tackle complex engineering problems, and drive agile process improvements while delivering reliable, secure cloud services at Amazon scale.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience.
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Write high-quality code with thorough test coverage and mentor others.
• Engineer systems for "Amazon Scale" and ensure reliability.
• Design highly available, secure distributed systems of microservices and improve them with peers.
• Collaborate with technical leaders and teams to drive architectural decisions.
• Work on Agile projects with high visibility and continuous improvement of processes.
• Own and operate systems based on real-time data and strict SLAs.
