Job summary

Shield Consulting Solutions, Inc. seeks a Software Engineer to develop, sustain, and troubleshoot the GHOSTGEM software suite, including DINO, in a security‑clearance environment. Responsibilities cover integration with COTS, GOTS, and FOSS, plus testing and deployment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline; 7 years of software engineer experience.
• Experience with Linux CLI, Bash, Python 3.x, and NoSQL (MongoDB).
• Familiarity or willingness to learn Rust, Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, and CI/CD tools.
• Experience with Git, GitLab CI, and IaC tooling like Ansible.

Responsibilities

• Develop, sustain, and troubleshoot GHOSTGEM's software suite including DINO.
• Integrate with COTS, GOTS, and FOSS products; perform testing and deployment.
• Maintain CI/CD pipelines and container orchestration using Kubernetes.

  • 2 additional years of experience as a software engineer may be substituted for a degree

Job Description

• The Software Engineer shall be responsible for developing, sustaining, and troubleshooting GHOSTGEM's software suite of applications including DINO and possibly future capabilities as mission needs arise.
• Software development activities include implementation, testing, and integration with other COTS, GOTS, and FOSS products, packages, and libraries.

Required Experience

• Experience using the Linux CLI and Tools
• Experience developing scripts using Bash
• Recent Python (3.x) software development experience
• Experience with Rust programming concepts, or a willingness and aptitude to learn Rust
• Experience with NoSQL databases including MongoDB
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and containerd
• Experience with container orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes
• Experience creating Helm Charts to deploy containerized services on Kubernetes
• Familiar with Messaging Frameworks including RabbitMQ
• Familiar with CI/CD principles, methodologies, and tools including GitLab CI
• Familiar with IaC principles, methodologies, and tools such as Ansible
• Experience using Git Source Control System

Desired Experience

• Experience with SQL databases including PostgreSQL
• Experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite including Jira and Confluence

Salary: $230,000 - $240,000 annually
