Job summary

Shield Consulting Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer in Maryland to develop, sustain, and troubleshoot the GHOSTGEM software suite (including DINO).

You will implement, test, and integrate with COTS, GOTS, and FOSS components, while collaborating across teams to ensure reliable deployment. The role requires TS/SCI with Polygraph, 7 years of software engineering experience, and strong Python, Linux, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD skills, with a competitive salary and comprehensive

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline
• 2 additional years of experience as a software engineer may be substituted for a degree
• Experience with Linux CLI and tools
• Experience developing Bash scripts
• Recent Python (3.x) development experience
• Experience with NoSQL databases including MongoDB
• Experience with Docker and containerd
• Experience with CI/CD, GitLab CI
• Familiar with Kubernetes and Helm charts
• Familiar with RabbitMQ
• Familiar with Ansible
• Experience using Git Source Control System

Job Description

• The Software Engineer shall be responsible for developing, sustaining, and troubleshooting GHOSTGEM's software suite of applications including DINO.
• Software development activities include implementation, testing, and integration with other COTS, GOTS, and FOSS products, packages, and libraries.

Required Experience

• Experience using the Linux CLI and Tools
• Experience developing scripts using Bash
• Recent Python (3.x) software development experience
• Experience with NoSQL databases including MongoDB
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and containerd
• Experience with CI/CD principles, methodologies, and tools including GitLab CI
• Familiar with container orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes
• Familiar with Helm Charts to deploy containerized services on Kubernetes
• Familiar with Messaging Frameworks including RabbitMQ
• Familiar with IaC principles, methodologies, and tools such as Ansible
• Experience using Git Source Control System

Desired Experience

• Experience with SQL databases including PostgreSQL
• Experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite including Jira and Confluence

Salary: $230,000 - $240,000 annually
