Job summary

TransCore, a subsidiary of ST Engineering, is seeking a Sr Software Engineer, Smart Mobility to help build a cloud-native mobility platform that connects tolling, parking, and transit services. The role focuses on backend services, APIs, and web experiences, with ownership from design through production.

You will design and implement cloud-native services on Azure in C#/.NET, participate in full-stack work, and mentor peers on a small, fast-moving team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 10 to 13 years of professional software development experience, with recent hands-on work building production services.
• Strong C# and .NET experience, including .NET Core or later, ASP.NET Core Web API, and asynchronous or multi-threaded programming.
• Designing and operating cloud-native applications on Azure, AWS, or GCP, with Azure preferred.
• Experience with message queues or event streaming, and distributed systems failure modes.
• Knowledge of authentication and API security standards (OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT, TLS/mTLS).
• Experience designing scalable systems with caching, partitioning, load distribution, and performance tuning.
• Strong database skills (SQL Server or PostgreSQL).
• Experience with containers and Docker, CI/CD with Git, and observability tools (OpenTelemetry, Dynatrace, Grafana).
• Strong debugging, analytical, and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, and operate scalable backend services and APIs in C# and .NET.
• Build cloud-native services on Azure that scale horizontally and handle retries, idempotency, and backpressure.
• Implement event-driven workflows using Azure Service Bus, Event Hubs, Kafka, or RabbitMQ.
• Integrate with tolling, payment, and partner APIs per interface contracts.
• Implement authentication and API security standards including OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect.
• Design data schemas and manage data access across relational and NoSQL stores.
• Contribute to Angular/TypeScript front ends when needed.
• Write unit and integration tests and collaborate with QA Automation.
