Job summary

Pathward, N.A. is seeking an experienced software engineer to develop and maintain cloud-native services on AWS within a hybrid-work environment. You will design, build, test, and document solutions as part of a collaborative team.

The role requires a Bachelor's in a technical field and 5+ years in a professional technical setting, with hands-on experience in AWS, Python, Terraform, and Git. Strong communication and mentoring skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in technical field or equivalent education and work experience.
• 5+ years of experience in a professional technical environment.
• 4 years of professional software design and development experience.
• Hands-on experience building and maintaining cloud-native services on AWS.
• Observability tooling such as OpenTelemetry and Prometheus/Grafana preferred.
• General knowledge of Python, YAML, Terraform, Dockerfiles, Azure DevOps, and Git.
• Knowledge of Agile/Lean or Kanban preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develops flexible, maintainable solutions using guidelines and requirements.
• Solves development problems through good design and practical experience.
• Reviews, modifies, enhances, and maintains existing systems addressing issues and security.
• Participates in planning and user story analysis with feedback on requirements.

• Follows software development processes and documents changes and standards.
• Keeps up to date with tools, technology and industry standards through training.
