Job summary

The Options Clearing Corporation (OCC) is hiring a software developer to design and implement high-throughput data solutions in a hybrid work setting. You will build scalable microservices and RESTful APIs using Java/Spring Boot, with MongoDB or PostgreSQL, and optimize SQL queries for performance.

You will collaborate across teams to deliver resilient cloud-based applications on AWS, following rigorous SDLC practices and security standards while supporting production systems and enterprise

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field with 3 years of software development experience.
• Experience designing low-latency, event-driven distributed systems using Spring Batch and Kafka.
• Experience developing scalable microservices and RESTful APIs with Java and Spring Boot using MongoDB or PostgreSQL.
• Ability to design efficient database access strategies and optimized SQL queries.
• Experience deploying real-time distributed applications on AWS (EC2, Auto Scaling).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with business analysts, team leads and developers to build scalable data solutions.
• Develop and optimize microservices and RESTful APIs for data-intensive applications.
• Design efficient database access and high-throughput data processing pipelines.
• Implement and document software following SDLC, security, and quality standards.
• Provide guidance to Production Support and communicate delays or defects clearly.
