Job summary

Swiftly is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to build scalable cloud-based services across backend and frontend stacks. You’ll work with Product, Design, and Engineering to deliver end-to-end user experiences for transit customers, leveraging Java/Node.js/Python on the backend and Vue.js on the frontend.

A strong API, SQL/NoSQL, and AWS background is highly valued. Ideal for candidates with 5+ years of experience and a product mindset.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant software engineering experience.
• Experience with authentication and authorization is a plus.
• Full‑stack skills: strong in at least one of Java or Node/JavaScript; comfortable building modern frontends (Vue.js a plus).
• Experience building and consuming APIs; proficiency with SQL and non‑relational databases.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, maintain, and extend products, features, and functionality that solve real customer problems.
• Partner with Product, Design, and Engineering to discover and validate customer needs and technical approaches.
• Prototype quickly to de-risk projects and iterate ideas into production‑ready solutions.
• Deliver incremental value by breaking down work and regularly demoing progress.
• Communicate technical trade‑offs and document architectural decisions.
• Apply modern software engineering practices to deliver robust, maintainable systems.
• Uplevel teammates through code reviews and collaboration.
• Take ownership of code and product domain and continuously improve how the team works.
