Job summary

Coinbase, Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer in the Security Platform Engineering group to lead cryptographic infrastructure and high-availability services across internal and external partners.

You will mentor senior engineers, shape technical strategy, and work with cross-functional teams while maintaining responsibility for zero-trust security and compliant architectures. This remote-forward role may require periodic in-person surges.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering with distributed systems.
• Deep PKI and cryptography expertise, including CA operations and X.509 lifecycle management.
• Experience protecting private keys with HSMs or cloud KMS.
• Experience leading architecture for large cryptographic initiatives.
• Experience in zero-trust environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture and execution of cryptographic infrastructure.
• Define technical strategies with a multi-quarter horizon for cryptographic solutions.
• Own risky initiatives and implement secure cryptographic protocols in a zero-trust environment.
• Mentor engineers and drive rigorous code reviews to eliminate single points of failure.
• Align with Security, Product, and Policy to drive flawless execution.
