Job summary
Abbott in Sylmar, CA is seeking a Sr. Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain software and firmware tools for implantable device projects.
You will plan deliverables, lead troubleshooting, and coordinate across teams to meet schedule and cost targets in a regulatory environment. The role requires strong C/C++ and Python skills, experience in firmware full cycle development, and familiarity with Windows/Linux and FDA guidelines.
Qualifications
- Requires Bachelor's degree in a technical field and 5+ years in software development (or 4+ with a Master).
- Experience in firmware/software full cycle development.
- Ability to plan deliverables and manage teams to meet schedule and cost.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain software per requirements for implantable device firmware projects.
- Support implementation, enhancements, and modifications to software/firmware applications.
- Debug, troubleshoot, and propose solutions for future development.
- Develop tests and document design concepts, parameters, structure, and core components.
- Participate in design reviews and provide constructive feedback.
- Ensure compliance with FDA regulations and company policies.
