Job summary

Abbott in the United States is seeking a Senior Mobile Software Research & Development Engineer to translate ideas into prototypes and products for Cardiac Rhythm Management mobile apps on Android and iOS. The role can be based in Sylmar, CA or Sunnyvale, CA and operates within a regulated medical device environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of industry experience in mobile software development.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Mobile OS platforms – Android & iOS.
• Mobile app programming languages: Java, Swift, Kotlin, JS, C#.
• Familiarity with Agile development and CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Participate in ideation, front-end research, prototyping through proofs-of-concept and product development for CRM Mobile apps on Android and iOS.
• Collaborate with CRM mobile software architect, clinical engineering, system engineering and marketing to mature technologies and demonstrate solutions.
• Perform requirements gathering, design, coding and unit testing for mobile platforms.
• Lead development of features including interfaces, architecture and test design.
• Ensure conformance to design specifications, coding standards and regulatory requirements (FDA/EU-MDR).
• Contribute to test framework development for automated development testing across UI and backend layers.
