Job summary

American Home Shield Corp is seeking a Senior Software Engineer with a product focus to drive medium-sized projects and own components across multiple platforms. You will document, test, debug, and optimize performance while collaborating with a 3–4 person team.

The role requires strong CS fundamentals and 7+ years in product development. Expect on-call rotations, and proficiency in Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, and CI/CD practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/EE or related field is required.
• 7+ years product development experience is expected.
• On-call availability rotating with services owned by the team.

Responsibilities

• Write documentation and automated tests for code you write.
• Implement automated tests to pass and meet standards.
• Debug production issues and plan mitigations.
• Optimize performance of existing implementations.
• Read unfamiliar code, debug, and improve quality.
• Build data structures and improve performance with indexing.
• Refactor cross-platform components and deliver actionable items.
• Identify platform quirks and provide quick fixes.
• Benchmark app/backend performance and reduce bottlenecks.
• Prioritize tasks with Scrum Master to drive success.
• Contribute ideas and collaborate to turn ideas into reality.
• May perform other duties as assigned.
