Job summary

Rise Technical Recruitment Limited is seeking a Senior Software Engineer in San Francisco to own features end-to-end and ship robust backend and frontend components. The role emphasizes autonomy within a small, high-caliber engineering team.

You will collaborate with the founder, PMs, and designers, integrate APIs, and focus on distributed systems and real-time capabilities. This role is on-site in San Francisco, with relocation assistance and equity on offer.

Qualifications

• 3–6 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proficiency in TypeScript, Node.js, Next.js, and React.
• Familiarity with distributed systems concepts — queuing, caching, retries, or reliability patterns.
• Exposure to real-time systems or event-driven architectures such as WebSockets.
• Experience integrating third-party APIs.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently with high ownership.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship complete features end‑to‑end — from clean, maintainable code to testing, rollout, and production monitoring.
• Collaborate with the founder, PMs, and designers to understand product requirements and navigate trade‑offs.
• Contribute across the full stack with a lean toward backend and distributed systems.
• Integrate third‑party APIs and build internal tooling.
• Own features end‑to‑end — from code to deployment, observability, and maintenance.
• Work in person 4 days a week from the San Francisco office.
