Job summary

Google Photos is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Backend, to drive backend initiatives at scale. You will contribute to building and evolving systems that support billions of users and storage journeys, while leading and mentoring teammates in a fast-paced environment.

You will work on server-side, search, storage, and machine intelligence components, collaborating with Android/iOS teams to deliver scalable, reliable software across platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of software development experience.
• 3+ years testing/maintaining/launching software; 1 year in design/architecture.

• Provide technical direction and lead the development of backend business generation projects, such as server-driven promotions.
  
• Scope complex technical problems, ensure the overall health of backend systems, and guide the backend engineering team.
  
• Collaborate withcross-functional partners and engineering leads on other platforms (Android, iOS) to define requirements and design scalable solutions.
  
• Build features that advance the Storage business generation mission while maintaining a delightful and consistent user experience across platforms.
