The Role

We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer with backend engineering expertise to join our Engineering team. You’ll work alongside the CTO and other engineers to build Soris’ first MVP. You will be doing foundational work such as building our core APIs that interact with our agentic systems, building a deployment infrastructure that allows rapid experimentation, architecting our RAG pipelines and architecture, and setting best practices for the entire engineering organization. This is a ground-floor opportunity where your work will directly shape the platform, culture, and impact of Soris.

What You’ll Do

• Design and build core backend systems and APIs that power our Soris products.
• Develop scalable data pipelines and storage systems for high-availability agentic systems.
• Collaborate with the product division to integrate agentic workflows into the core platform.
• Work closely with early stakeholders to deliver solutions that solve real pain points.
• Contribute across the product lifecycle: architecture, implementation, testing, deployment, and monitoring.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience building backend services from end-to-end.
• Strong proficiency in Python, Go, Rust, or a similar language.
• Demonstrated expertise in system design and development.
• Experience with databases (SQL/NoSQL), cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure/GCP), and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub actions).
• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform is a huge plus!).

Nice-To-Haves

• Strong experience building or integrating AI agents into production systems.
• Background in highly regulated industries (HIPAA, SOC2, HITRUST, PCI, etc.).
• Experience with payment rails (Stripe, SVB, Square etc.).
• Experience optimizing payment flows, financial reconciliation, or compliance-heavy data pipelines.
• Contributions to early-stage startups or small teams where wearing multiple hats was key.
• Knowledge of security and compliance best practices for handling sensitive customer and financial data.
