Role: Senior Software Engineer (Backend)
Location: Remote or On-site (New York City) | Full-time
Compensation: $150k - $210k + Equity
This role is an opportunity to join an established engineering team as a senior backend contributor responsible for shaping core technical direction and delivering scalable, production-grade systems. You’ll work across backend services, data-processing pipelines, dashboards, and distributed systems—while collaborating closely with mobile engineering teams and contributing to an evolving technology ecosystem. If you enjoy solving complex backend challenges, leading projects from concept to production, and working across modern cloud-native stacks, this role offers high ownership and impact.
Backend Engineering – Design, build, and deploy backend services and internal systems with an emphasis on reliability and scale.
Complex Problem Solving – Work on data aggregation, dashboards, scalable microservices, and backend components supporting ML-driven features.
Architecture Contributions – Participate in designing system architecture, improving backend patterns, and setting engineering best practices.
Cross-Stack Collaboration – Work with mobile engineering teams to ensure backend systems align with product needs and industry standards.
Technical Execution – Ship high-quality code, own features end-to-end, and support production deployments.
6+ years of professional software engineering experience, with strong backend specialization.
Expertise with AWS, TypeScript, Node.js, and React.
Proven experience delivering software from initial design through rollout.
Background in consumer-facing product development (preferred but not required).
Strong understanding of system design, backend patterns, and modern cloud architectures.
Passion for technical innovation and building reliable, scalable systems.
Salary: $150k – $210k
