Qualifications

About the Role

Our client, a leading fintech innovator in Welkom , is searching for a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer specializing in backend development. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable and robust server-side applications that power critical financial services. This role requires a deep understanding of distributed systems, database management, and API development. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions that meet stringent industry standards and drive business growth in the Free State .

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable, high-availability backend services and APIs using languages like Java, Python, or C#.
• Optimize application performance, database efficiency, and system architecture for large-scale deployments.
• Write clean, well-tested, and maintainable code, participating actively in code reviews.
• Collaborate with front-end developers, product managers, and QA engineers to deliver features end-to-end.
• Troubleshoot and debug complex issues in production and staging environments.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and technology roadmap planning.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of professional experience in backend software development.
