Job summary

SOMERSET STAFFING in Pasadena, CA is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Banking-as-a-Service (BaaS) team. You will help onboard partners and drive platform enhancements, building scalable, secure services that enable embedded finance across a growing partner ecosystem.

The role requires 5+ years in software engineering, leadership experience, and mastery of C#, .NET, SQL, and Azure. You will design APIs, ensure security and observability, contribute to CI/CD and incident response,

Qualifications

• 5+ years in software engineering with at least 1 year in a technical leadership role.
• Strong portfolio of secure and standards-compliant code across multiple platforms.
• Proficiency in C#, .NET, SQL, and cloud platforms (Azure native services).

Responsibilities

• Design and develop APIs and microservices that support BaaS onboarding and partner integration.
• Collaborate with product managers, architects, and engineering teams to define technical requirements and deliver robust solutions.
• Support engineering excellence through code reviews, mentoring, and best practices in CI/CD, testing, and observability.
• Ensure compliance with SLA standards and contribute to the development of monitoring and alerting systems.
• Contribute to incident response and root cause analysis to improve system reliability.
• Draft architectural and design documentation to assist design options analysis and decision-making.
• Evaluate emerging technologies from applicability to feasibility and adoption paths.
• Refactor and extend the existing codebase to fix defects and add features/functionality.
• Create systems that are durable and flexible by developing for change, favoring configurability over customization.
