Job summary

Impellam Group is seeking a Senior Developer to join the Operations & Enablement team. This role designs complex software solutions and mentors junior engineers while handling on-call duties. You will work on cloud automation, infrastructure, FinOps, and global initiatives.

Required is 4+ years in AWS, Python, Terraform, and TypeScript, with strong communication skills and agile experience. Domestic travel up to 10% may be required.

• Follows industry-standard agile software design methodology for development and documentation.
• Mentors junior software engineers on the team.
• Serves as a Senior Developer on the Operations & Enablement team including handling on-call duties.
• Develops automation for cloud accounts, infrastructure, FinOps and Enablement.
• Troubleshoots production issues and communicates root cause of problems to others.
• Works with teams globally to support organizational initiatives.

Works on a product team and supports product design by planning its work, coordinating with others, and writing and testing code to deliver functionality for the complete product or products it supports. This level designs complex/significant parts of a system/sub-system or works on a complete product of a broad scope and solves well-defined problems with little guidance. May act as a work lead, providing technical coaching to other engineers and support personnel; recognized as an expert user of critical technology; develops new software functionality for product development.

Major Duties:

Education:

Work Experience:

• 4-7 years of experience in programming/software development.
• 4-7 years of experience with software development processes.
• 4-7 years of experience with product design, test and/or analysis.
• 4-7 years of experience participating in Agile Development.
• 4+ years of experience with application development and scripting languages.
• 4+ years of experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS).
• 4+ years of experience with Python, Boto, Terraform, TypeScript.
• 4+ years of experience with Github Actions CI/CD.
• 4+ years of experience with infrastructure as code, automation, troubleshooting and root cause analysis.

Required Qualifications:

• Excellent communicator, written and verbal.
• Ability to work in a global team environment.
• AWS Certification (Developer/Architect/DevOps).
• Experience with Agile development processes including Test Driven Development, Test Automation, and PYTest.
• Able to participate in on-call rotation every month and handle off-hours support work.
• Ability to travel domestically 10% of the time or less.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 6+ years of experience with Amazon Web Services [ECS, S3, ES, Lambda, ELB].
• 2+ years of experience with Unix/Linux operating systems.
• 2+ years of experience with Elasticsearch/OpenSearch administration or support.
• Experience with applications development environment, database, data administration and infrastructure capabilities and constraints.
