Job summary

Roblox is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Avatar Animation team. You will leverage the Roblox engine to build groundbreaking animation experiences, with focus on usability and performance for millions of players.

Required: 8+ years in animation and game engines, strong C++, Lua a plus, and a focus on 3D math and architecture. Collaborative, with equity and benefits for full-time staff.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience with character animation, game engines, and tools.
• Proficiency in C++ with high-quality, performant code.
• Experience with animation for games or interactive experiences is a plus.
• Familiarity with Lua is advantageous.
• Strong 3D math and solid code architecture mindset.
• Ability to optimize for mobile platforms.

Responsibilities

• Push the quality bar with animation tech on Roblox.
• Analyze animation tech and tools to meet project goals.
• Document issues and feature requests for animation tech.
• Collaborate with gameplay engineers to implement animation-based interactions.
• Deliver innovative solutions for feature requests and larger features.
• Collaborate with internal and community teams to improve Roblox animation.
