Job summary
Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a software developer to help design and build a new state-of-the-art simulation platform for autonomous construction sites in Irving, Texas. You will work on end-to-end software for simulation, rendering, and data flow across connected teams and systems.
The role emphasizes collaboration with robotics and cloud teams, with a strong focus on quality, scalability, and practical AI-enabled solutions. Experience with CI/CD and modern web technologies is valued.
Qualifications
- Experience building simulation and rendering platforms.
- Experience in 3D object rendering and manipulation.
- Experience with mapping technology (GIS, Terrain mapping, OpenLayers).
- Experience in leveraging web graphics/animation standard libraries and APIs.
Responsibilities
- Participate in the development of the simulation software stack (full stack).
- Write high-quality software, follow best practices and participate in code reviews.
- Work collaboratively with peers and onboard new team members.
- Participate in software design and requirements discussions.
- Collaborate with the Robotic team to align needs with implementation, focusing on quality and value.
- Improve and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
- Contribute to brainstorming and ideation sessions.
- Engage in other tasks as needed by the team.
