Job summary
Amazon Robotics AMS Motion is seeking a Software Development Engineer III to lead architectural decisions for autonomous navigation components, including motion and task planning, control, and ROS/ROS2 code. You will mentor engineers, drive cross-team collaboration, and shape production robotics systems for safety and efficiency in fulfillment centers worldwide.

Qualifications
- 5+ years of non‑internship professional software development experience.
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture of new and existing systems.
- 5+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including reviews and operations.
- Experience as a tech lead or mentoring engineers.
Responsibilities
- Design motion planning and task planning systems that generalize to new environments.
- Develop and improve motion planning algorithms.
- Build and own training pipelines for ML-based motion planning.
- Lead metrics, analysis frameworks, and alarms for motion planning issues.
- Align interfaces across Perception, SLAM, Infrastructure, Fleet Management.
- Set code quality standards in C++, TypeScript, Python, ROS/ROS2.
- Mentor engineers through reviews to raise team capability.
