Job summary

Dormont Manufacturing Co is seeking a lead designer to create world-class microelectronics and edge computing devices. The ideal candidate will have over 7 years of experience, particularly in Rust, and will lead software and firmware development while integrating autonomy into systems.

This role is essential in supporting the team’s mission to innovate in aircraft technology. The position includes standard benefits and starting salary ranges from $105,000 to $135,000 per year.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7+ years working in a strongly typed language, preferably Rust.
• Proficiency in a Linux development environment.
• Understanding of data structures, algorithms, and code optimization.

Responsibilities

• Design and integrate autonomy into edge computing systems.
• Develop and test software solutions within Software-in-The-Loop and Hardware-in-The-Loop environments.
• Leverage existing mesh network hardware to support real-time communication.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary project teams.
• Lead and mentor a small software team while balancing multiple projects.
• Implement modern DevOps practices.
